Privacy Policy
Plain language, because you should not need a lawyer to find out what happens to your information.

Crafted for Good ("we," "us," or "our") operates craftedforgood.co. We work with mission driven organizations, which means people trust us with information about themselves, their teams, and the communities they serve. We take that seriously. This policy explains what we collect through this website, why, and what you can ask us to do about it.
Information you give us
We only collect what you hand us. Depending on which form you use, that may include:
- Getting in touch or telling us about your organization: your name, email address, phone number, organization name and website, preferred time to talk, organization type, budget range, current tools, how you heard about us, the support you are looking for, and the answers you write about your mission and what you need.
- Joining a waitlist: your email address, the list you joined, and your organization if you choose to provide it. We use this information to send the updates you requested. You can ask us to remove you at any time.
- Taking Find Your Starting Place: the answers you choose, anything you write in the quiz, and the results we recommend. You do not have to give your name or email address to take the quiz. If you ask us to email your results, we also collect your email address. We record whether you ask us to get in touch.
- Booking a consultation or a software demo: your name, email address, organization, and the details of the meeting you are scheduling.
- Applying to work with us: your name, contact information, where you are based, your areas of interest, links to a resume or portfolio, and what you tell us about yourself.
- Telling us about a tool that is missing: your name, email address, organization, and what you are trying to do.
Please do not send us sensitive information through these forms. That includes health information, government identification numbers, financial account numbers, or details about the individual clients and participants your organization serves. If we work together, we will set up a secure way to handle anything like that.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, this one collects some technical information when you visit:
- Your IP address, which gives an approximate location, usually at the city level
- Your browser and device type
- The pages you visit, how long you spend, and the site or link that sent you here
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how people find and move through the site, so we know which pages are useful and which are not. It sets cookies in your browser, including one named _ga, that help it tell a returning visitor from a new one. We use this in aggregate. We are not trying to identify you personally, and we do not use it for advertising.
You can turn this off. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings, and Google publishes a browser add-on that opts you out of Analytics everywhere at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. The site works fine either way.
The quiz also saves your progress in this browser so you can return to it. That includes your selected answers and any text you write. Clearing this site's browser storage removes that saved progress from your device.
How we use your information
We use what you give us to:
- Answer you, and to prepare for a conversation before we have it
- Schedule, confirm, and follow up on meetings you book
- Provide the services you have asked us for
- Send your quiz results when you ask us to, and contact you about them only if you ask us to get in touch
- Send the waitlist updates you signed up for
- Consider you for a role, if you sent your information about working with us
- Understand which parts of this site are actually helping people, and improve them
We will not add you to a mailing list because you filled out a form. If we ever start sending something you can subscribe to, it will be because you asked for it, and every message will have a way out.
What we do not do
We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent it, trade it, or share it with advertisers, and we do not use it to target ads to you anywhere.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers that make this site and our work run, and only as much as they need:
- Google hosts our email and documents, receives form submissions through Google Apps Script, stores form records in Google Sheets, and provides the analytics described above
- Cloudflare hosts this website and provides its security and delivery
- Our scheduling and document signing tools, which we build and operate ourselves, handle bookings and any agreements you sign with us
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, if we need to protect someone's safety or our legal rights, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger or acquisition. If that last one ever happens, we will say so here first.
If we are already working together
This policy covers this website. If your organization has signed an agreement with us, that agreement, along with any business associate agreement, data processing terms, or confidentiality provisions in it, governs how we handle your organization's data and the information of the people you serve. Where the two differ, your agreement wins.
How long we keep it
We keep what you send us for as long as we need it for the reason you sent it, and for as long as our records, contracts, and legal obligations require. When it is no longer needed, we delete it. If you want your information removed sooner, ask us and we will do it unless we are required to keep it.
How we protect it
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect the information we hold, including limiting who can access it. That said, no website or system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. If a breach ever affects your information, we will notify you as the law requires.
Your choices and rights
Whoever and wherever you are, you can email us and ask to:
- See what personal information we hold about you
- Correct anything that is wrong
- Delete it
- Stop hearing from us
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act or comparable state privacy laws. We honor these requests regardless of where you live, and we will not treat you differently for making one. Write to hello@craftedforgood.co and we will respond within the time the applicable law allows, and sooner if we can.
Children
This site is meant for organizations and the adults who run them. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has sent us something, email us and we will delete it.
Links to other sites
We link out to other organizations and tools now and then. Once you leave this site, their privacy practices apply, not ours. It is worth a look before you hand anyone your information, including us.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant, we will make it obvious rather than quietly editing a line.
Questions
Ask us. Really. Email hello@craftedforgood.co and a person will write back.
Still have questions
We would rather you ask.
If anything here is unclear, or you want to know exactly what we have of yours, write to us and we will tell you straight.
